Interior night

Hanoï – Vietnam – december 2007

Interior. Outside. Is there privacy when trade and living are one, completely open on the street? Only old metal grids held by a simple padlock restore some privacy at dusk. We live, eat, work, relax in the living room, on the sidewalk, it does not matter, one and the other intertwine. Until when ? With a booming economy modeled on the Western model, Hanoi sees the windows grow at the entrance of its stores. The shops cease to be places of residence and the living room settles on the floor. From this upset lifestyle are still some traces, the last milestones of the intimate relationship to the street that keeps this people open to others.

All photos were taken from the street.
